About SCOPH

Public health is an important part of healthcare that concerns every medical student as it focuses on improving the health and well being of individuals and communities.

It goes beyond treating disease to include prevention, health education, and understanding the factors that affect population health.

SCOPH works to raise awareness about public health issues and provide students with opportunities to learn, participate, and contribute to promoting healthier lifestyles and preventing diseases.

Through our collective efforts we strive to create a positive and lasting impact that benefits medical students, communities, and future generations, helping to build a healthier and more informed society.

Vision

SCOPH gives medical students the chance to get involved in public health, learn more about community health issues, and build their skills in this field. It also empowers them to take meaningful action within their communities and contribute to improving public health outcomes.

Mission

SCOPH aims to empower medical students who are interested in public health to expand their knowledge and develop their skills through capacity building events and opportunities to engage with key public health stakeholders. It also encourages collaboration with others in the field to broaden their experience and understanding. SCOPH strives to create a healthy and supportive working environment that ensures effective communication, proper documentation, and well organized handling of activities and projects.

The focus area encourages medical students to contribute to creating more equitable healthcare systems.
